The replica tape is rubbed onto the abrasive blast cleaned surface forming a reverse replica of the peak-valley pattern in the steel. The replica is quantified using a spring loaded micrometer to determine the maximum peak-to-valley depth. Espesor de la esfera de micrometro Testex Gage se utiliza en conjunción con una cinta de réplica Testex para adquirir medidas de perfil de superficie de acuerdo con el método C en ASTM D4417. La cinta de réplica se frota en la superficie abrasiva de limpieza de explosiones formando una réplica inversa del patrón de valles de pico en el acero.
